Short version: the extension reads your holdings page and does the math inside your browser. The only thing that leaves your browser is the list of stock symbols you hold — not how many you own, not what they cost, not your profit or loss. Your email and password are used to sign you in and nothing else.

What we look at

When you open the Zerodha holdings page, the extension reads the rows on that page so it can show you a sidebar with sector breakdowns, top movers, and concentration insights. This reading happens inside your browser. We do not receive your holdings, quantities, average cost, current price, profit, or loss.

Holdings Tracker Pro currently works only on the Zerodha Kite site (kite.zerodha.com). It does not read or run on any other broker or website.

What gets sent out, and why

Stock symbols only. To group your holdings by sector, we send the list of symbols (for example, RELIANCE, TCS) to our backend, which replies with the sector each symbol belongs to. We do not send quantities, values, percentages, or anything else that would tell us how big or small your position is.
Email and password. When you sign in, your email and password are sent over HTTPS to our authentication service so we can log you in. The password is not stored on your device.
The symbol you clicked. When you open a chart or fundamentals view, that single symbol is passed to the embedded view (TradingView, Tickertape, Screener, or Google search) so it can show the right page. Those services have their own privacy policies.

What stays in your browser

Your sign-in token, your sector lookups (cached for a week so we don't have to ask again), and your preferences (extension on/off, sidebar open/closed) are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in extension storage. They are cleared when you sign out or uninstall the extension.

What we keep on our side

Just your account record — the email you signed up with and whether you have a subscription. We don't keep your holdings, your trades, or anything about how much you have invested. We never had that information to begin with.

Your choices

Turn the extension off any time from the popup — the sidebar and overlays disappear.
Sign out from the popup — this clears your tokens locally and revokes them on our side.
Uninstall the extension — Chrome removes everything it stored.
Email us to delete your account — we'll remove the record.

If something goes wrong

If we discover that someone got access to data they shouldn't have, we'll let affected users know promptly and explain what happened and what we're doing about it.
