Live current-holdings insights
Understand portfolio concentration before counting holdings
A portfolio can contain many stocks while still depending heavily on a few names. HoldingsTracker Pro's current-holdings concentration insights help you inspect position sizes alongside sector exposure in Zerodha Kite.
Free installation and research links. Advanced-feature account requirements are shown in the extension. No paid checkout is currently available.
Look at your largest positions together
Single-stock weight describes one company's share of the included portfolio. Top-holdings concentration adds the weights of the largest positions. These are useful descriptions of exposure, but neither is a complete risk model. The extension's concentration insights are live today; confirm advanced-feature account requirements in the extension.

How to use it
- Review the largest current-value positions in your holdings insights, rather than ranking stocks by share quantity or purchase price.
- Consider their combined weight and whether several large holdings also share a sector or business driver.
- Explore the fictional portfolio demo to understand a hypothetical snapshot. Any scenario is an illustration, not a trade instruction or projected return.
Worked example: largest position, top two, and top three
Hypothetical companies and values, for arithmetic only. These are not securities recommendations, actual prices, or user holdings.
| Holding | Sector | Current value | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aster Bank | Financials | ₹60,000 | 30% |
| Birch Bank | Financials | ₹40,000 | 20% |
| Cedar Software | Technology | ₹50,000 | 25% |
| Delta Engineering | Industrials | ₹30,000 | 15% |
| Elm Foods | Consumer Staples | ₹20,000 | 10% |
| Total | Five positions | ₹2,00,000 | 100% |
- The five position weights are 30%, 20%, 25%, 15%, and 10%. Ranked largest first, they are 30%, 25%, 20%, 15%, and 10%.
- Largest-position weight = ₹60,000 ÷ ₹2,00,000 × 100 = 30%. Top-two concentration = (₹60,000 + ₹50,000) ÷ ₹2,00,000 × 100 = 55%.
- Top-three concentration = (₹60,000 + ₹50,000 + ₹40,000) ÷ ₹2,00,000 × 100 = 75%. The remaining two holdings together account for 25%.
- Top-five concentration is 100% here because the sample contains only five holdings. That number alone is less informative than the largest-position and top-three weights.
These calculations explain the sample's concentration; they are not a claim that every metric shown here is a separate extension feature. There is no universal safe percentage implied by this example, and a concentrated portfolio's outcome also depends on the underlying businesses.
What this view does not tell you
- Many small positions do not offset a dominant large position simply by increasing the stock count.
- Weight-based concentration is not volatility, correlation, liquidity analysis, or a prediction of future drawdowns.
- Use a consistent current-value basis and an explicit portfolio scope. A partial holdings list can make a position look larger than it is across all your assets.
What stays local, and what is sent
The extension reads the visible holdings page and calculates position values and weights in your browser. Stock symbols are sent to the backend to look up sector labels; quantities, costs, position values, and profit or loss are not sent for that lookup. Opening third-party research passes the selected symbol to the destination service. Account sign-in uses the authentication service.
The separate sample portfolio demo calculates from inputs held in page memory, does not transmit those inputs, and generates CSV downloads locally. It does not connect to your broker. Optional public-site analytics, only if configured and explicitly opted into, must not include financial inputs. Your consent choice is stored locally.
