Installation and product scope

How do I install HoldingsTracker Pro?

Open the official Chrome Web Store listing linked below, review its permissions, and choose Add to Chrome. Open Zerodha Kite and your holdings page. If the extension is not visible, check that it is enabled in Chrome and has permission to run on kite.zerodha.com, then reload the tab.

Which broker does the extension support?

Zerodha Kite is currently supported. There is no current multi-broker consolidation, transaction-history tracking, dividend tracking, or realised profit-and-loss reporting. The fictional website demo is separate from the extension and does not connect to a broker.

Are sector and concentration insights live?

Yes. Current-holdings sector, sub-sector, and concentration insights are available in the extension, along with stock research links. Live means currently available; it does not promise an independent real-time quote feed. Verify displayed figures against Kite.

Do I need an account or a paid plan?

Installation and research links are free. Advanced-feature account requirements must be confirmed in the extension. No paid checkout is currently available, and future paid-plan prices have not been announced. The sample portfolio demo and guides do not require a paid plan.

Accounts and sign-in

The website and extension show different sign-in states. What should I do?

Check the current account state in the extension popup as well as on the website. Reload the relevant pages and follow any sign-in prompt in the extension. Do not assume that signing into the website automatically grants extension access. If the mismatch persists, email support with the browser and extension versions and the error text.

How long does my session last?

There is no fixed session duration promised here. Session availability depends on authentication settings, token refresh, and local browser storage. If asked to sign in again, use the official sign-in flow; never share tokens, passwords, or one-time codes with support.

How do I request account deletion or help accessing my account?

Email holdingstrackerpro@gmail.com from the account address, where possible, and describe the request. Identity verification may be needed. No automated deletion workflow, manual reset-link delivery, or fixed response or deletion time is promised on this page.

Privacy: extension and sample portfolio

What leaves my browser when I use extension insights?

The extension reads the visible holdings page and calculates insights locally. It sends stock symbols to the backend to obtain sector labels. Quantities, average costs, position values, weights, and profit or loss are not sent for that lookup. Your email and password are sent over HTTPS to the authentication service when you use email/password sign-in.

What happens when I open stock research?

The selected stock symbol is passed to the destination or embedded research service, such as TradingView, Tickertape, Screener, or Google search. Those services have their own privacy policies and may receive normal web-request information. Research links do not mean that your accounts or watchlists are synchronised between services.

Does the sample portfolio demo transmit or save my edits?

The sample portfolio demo calculates in your browser using inputs held in page memory, without transmitting those inputs. CSV downloads are created locally. It does not automatically save a portfolio or connect to your broker; reloading the page clears edits. Handle any exported file as financial information.

Does public-site analytics include my portfolio?

No financial inputs, holdings, symbols, quantities, amounts, or calculation results may be included in analytics. Optional public-site analytics runs only if configured and after explicit opt-in. The consent choice is stored locally, separately from demo inputs. Declining optional analytics does not prevent use of the website.

Troubleshooting and safe support

A sector label or portfolio percentage looks wrong.

Check which holdings are visible, their current values, and the sector classifications. Use the same portfolio scope and value basis when comparing results. Missing or unmapped holdings and rounding can affect interpretation. Include a redacted description of the issue when contacting support, not a full holdings export.

The page or extension is not responding.

Reload the page and check the extension's enabled state and Kite site permission. Note your browser version, extension version, and the steps that triggered the issue. Avoid clearing all browser storage as a first step: it can sign you out and remove local preferences.

What should I include in a support email?

Send a short description, reproduction steps, versions, and redacted error text. Remove account numbers, financial values, access tokens, passwords, and one-time codes from screenshots or logs. Support does not need your broker credentials.
